Art Bikers

In the summer of 2007 we started ART BIKERS - a program to take free art making activities to the streets and communities of Halifax in a fun and environmentally friendly way. We hired, trained, and equipped four young artists with bikes, trailers full of art making materials, and set them loose in the city! Between July and September 2007, the Art Bikers met and worked with over 900 children and their families/caregivers in various urban, suburban and rural communities throughout HRM.

This summer 2008 Art Bikers will ride again! If you would like Art Bikers to visit your community call, Jesse at 422-4805. Over the summer, you can call this number for a recorded message about where to find the Art Bikers each week.

From time to time we offer workshops in community arts facilitation. These workshops help to prepare community members and/or artists to lead community arts projects. We will also come to your community to provide workshops, professional development training or information sessions. Please call the Executive Director, Terri Whetstone, if you are interested in receiving training.
