Rhythms: Urban Farm Society of Spryfield

The goal of this project is through a collaboration between community members, youth and artists to create a usable structure as a community hub at the Greystone Community Garden. The hub or Clubhouse, will become the heart of the Garden - a place where people meet, share, dream, create and relax together.

Project Timeline:

Phase 1 Spring into summer: participant engagement and learning  through building planning, architecture, natural building workshops.

Phase 2 Summer (July and August): Using natural building techniques learned through workshops, the participants along with the artists will create the Clubhouse. This is an experiential build process, with techniques being taught and utilized over a 10 week period.

Phase 3 Summer into Fall: more workshops and collaboration to adorn the structure - folk art, sound installations, decorative works and garden features - as community expressions in transforming the structure into a public artwork. Open House Community Celebration - date to be announced.
